Hey I’m Kubo, one of the cogs in a well-oiled machine known as Health by Science. I have worked in the fitness industry for over 5 years striving to provide clarity to my clients regarding anything training, nutrition, and recovery related. I tend to specialise in correct exercise technique, mobility, and overall strengthening while improving body composition. However, I will provide you with a detailed and individualised plan for your nutrition and recovery too.
My own interest in health & fitness was sparked when it became clear that my desired career as a professional basketball player wasn’t going to be an option (I’m only 6ft after all). Being driven by wanting to know more about how I can perform better to break through the ranks I was devouring every piece of training & nutrition related content I could get my hands on.
This led me to the decision to pack my bag and leave Slovakia, my home country, to pursue a university degree in Applied Sport Science and later on MSc in Strength & Conditioning at the University of Edinburgh.
After my studies I got a job as a gym instructor at Edinburgh Leisure where I quickly made it to a gym supervisor at Ainslie Park. Running classes, developing the knowledge of my team, and helping the gym members towards their goals was satisfactory at first. However, I quickly realised that from the position I was in it was very difficult to provide the level of attention and detail necessary for people to smash through their goals.
It was at this time that I started my own business, Pyramid Performance ED, focusing on improving my clients’ everyday quality of life. Through forming sustainable habits and employing evidence-based training principles I have managed to help numerous people to gain strength & size, lose weight & shape up, and to excel in amateur sports leagues.
From 2019 onwards, my business grew despite numerous lockdowns and restrictions, but when the guys from Health by Science come calling saying they need more hands on deck, you don’t say no – and so, here I am.
