Hi, I’m Steve, one of the coaches here at Health by Science. I have been coaching for over 5 years helping busy individuals achieve fat loss and body transformations success through practical training and nutrition methods.


My passion for specificity has helped me coach hundreds of clients over the years, from helping bankers, lawyers, and surgeons to improve their health and quality of life, to coaching bodybuilders into stage-ready condition, and junior GB trampolinists to perform at an international level.


My attention to detail has taught me the importance of individuality in Personal Training, and how each individuals lifestyle and goals are different, hence why every client’s training and nutrition needs have to be specific.


I have worked out of leisure centres my entire life, starting as a lifeguard in a local gym and then once I completed my HND in fitness, health and exercise I became a fitness instructor at Edinburgh leisure. After a couple of years, I wanted to help people on a deeper level, I didn’t like how as a gym instructor you could only scrape the surface of what people wanted to achieve so I went freelance as a Personal Trainer for 4 years learning the ins and outs of the industry, before getting headhunted by the most forward-thinking coaches in Edinburgh, Health by Science.


I have personally competed in numerous bodybuilding competitions since the age of 19, winning 1st at the Scottish men’s natural physique show in 2019 (you could say I’m a big deal), and placing top 4 in others. Since childhood I have always been sport-oriented, I achieved my blackbelt in karate at the age of 12, played rugby throughout high-school, and bench pressed 5x per week at the local gym because that’s all I knew I was good at. It’s fair to say I have come a long way since then and now understand the dynamics of training and nutrition on a deeper level, this continued learning has not only helped me develop myself physically and mentally but has helped my clients over the years feel and look better than they ever thought possible.
